*Across one winding (U1–U2), where the specified Rossi arrangement permits it. The rectifier is supplied in parallel, not in series with the motor. Paths show energy transfer. Motion is slowed for teaching.

The stator makes torque. The brake coil releases the spring-applied brake so the shaft can turn.
